Absence from my Blog

BlogThis past week some of my past customers and friends that use my website want to know why I’ve not posted any new Blogs. I feel like I could write a book about my experience in the past four months. On July 7, 2009 I received a phone call that changed my life, and for the good which my seem strange to some. The call was from my Doctor giving my pathology results showing I had neck cancer. The ride from that day until now has been eye opening, inspiring, and a lesson in giving. I can’t thank my family enough for their support and loving care. Thank you to my friends for their selfless giving my family experienced. As you can see on my Blog my daughter Liv is a new addition God so graciously gave my wife and I April this year. She and my wife were instrumental in my healing and getting back on my feet so quickly. I also want to give thanks to the Doctors and care givers who helped get through the treatments. I am back to work and very happy to help any persons looking to buy or sell Real Estate in South West Florida. I promise if you don’t watch the news everyday life is better than they make it out to be. Housing inventories are on the decline in Sarasota County and that is one of the best indicators you can point at showing the market in heading in the right direction. The foreclosure market is cyclical. What does that mean? It won’t last forever. God Bless and Thank You for reading my Blog.

Silver King in Venice Florida

tarponTarpon fishing is in full steam at this very moment. I believe a lucky fisherman could hook a Tarpon standing on Venice Beach; that’s how many I could see flying over Venice Beach and Manasota Key. My friend bought a 1938 Piper Cub this week and was explaining how the plane would be ideal for spotting fish. I exclaimed “the fish are on the beaches right now” (Boca Grande, Palm Island, Manasota Key, Venice Island, Casey Key, Siesta Key, Lido Key, Long Boat Key) all places you find Tarpon on the coast during the month of June. Greg offered to take me up for a quick flight around the Venice Island air port. As soon as we took off over the Venice fishing pier we could see the huge silhouettes of the mighty Silver King swimming around the grass patches in pods of 2 up to 10. Every hundred yards or so was a pod; very cool to see from the air. After landing I couldn’t help but think about how lucky I am to live in paradise “Venice Florida”.

Family / Work / Fishing

LIVMy daughter LIV was 6 weeks old this past Saturday when I took the photo you see posted. I think she is the cutest baby ever, but I may be biased due to the fact I’m her father.

Real Estate sales in Sarasota County, especially in Venice where I work have been rather robust after the April 15 cutoff that marks the end of season. There have been many double digit days for pending and sold listing on the MLS Hot Sheet. The difference in total units for sale compared to a year ago shows the inventory is getting smaller at a nice pace. These stats coupled with some positive media could go a long way for the recovery we all want to see. So long story short if you’re in the market to buy Real Estate in South West Florida make sure you pull the trigger in the next 12 months or less. No one can time the markets perfect but if this isn’t close to the bottom you can call me a salty dog.

Since the arrival of my baby girl my fishing expeditions have slowed to say the least, but I still have managed a couple short trips to find the bit is on. Tarpon are everywhere in the bay and on the beach. Cobia can be found just outside the passes around the massive bait balls that are easy to find just look for the birds or jumping fish. My last trip this past week provided many encounters with big Bull Reds in the bay right on the shallow grass flats. Couldn’t get them to bite but the sea trout bit was tons of fun using a top water lure that makes lots of noise. As always call me if you want to experience the best of South West Florida from my boat. Only one stipulation; must be willing to fish during site seeing:)

Liv Kembry Tritschler

April--BabyA new addition to the Tritschler Family this week. My baby girl was born April 4, 2009 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital where both her parents were born in 1972. I have already bought her a fishing pole and talk about fishing with her when she needs to be burped. South West Florida’s latest fisherwomen coming atcha.

Business in picking up and so are the King Fish

King-fishBusiness in picking up and so are the King Fish around our local barrier islands and beaches. My favorite Florida barrier islands to fish are Casey Key, Manasota Key, Little Gasparilla Island, and Boca Grade. As I’ve stated in the past whether you reside or just visit this area sometimes, you must experiance the areas barrier islands form the water. The Gulf of Mexico side is my favorite but my friends and I have spent many hours fishing the Bay side with it’s own unique species, habitat and beauty. I’m a born and raised native to the area and can’t recall such clean clear water as we have right now. I’ts like being in the Florida Keys. I expect the King fishing to continue to improve the next couple of months as the water warms up. Anyone ready to go fishing? I’m posting a picture of a small King caught by a customer of mine just outside on the Venice Florida Inlet.

Bass and Red Grouper in January 2009

Shakett-Creek-Pointe-(3)-734865
Shakett-Creek-Pointe-735839Finding calm warm days to fish this January 2009 with my best buds wasn’t easy but as these photos show our diligence paid off. Fishing inland in the bays and canal systems has been very good this year also with a wide variety of species. Just to mention a few (sea trout, pompano, sheephead, snook, redfish). As I’ve mentioned in the past this area of South West Florida that I work, live and fish can’t be fully appreciated without viewing from a boat perspective. If your interested in the area let me know and I will set up a boating expedition. Good luck with your Real Estate Search and fishing adventures.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE

Venice Florida and surrounding areas still have a market with active buyers and plenty of sellers adjusting their price to produce a sale. The month of November was very productive for me and my fellow associates. I wanted to bring this good news to my web traffic so they can accurately speak about the market. I run into the general public and agents for that matter that make strong statements like the following.

Nothing is selling, this market is horrible; did you see the news today.

To them I reply. Let me be the first to give positive news, there is activity in the Real Estate market and during a recession people do not stop buying and selling. I am not candy coating the present market situation, but I have found that wearing your blinders and focusing on the positive is a lot better that affirming that the market is bad. Do your self a giant favor, if your thoughts are less than cheery about the market.

STOP WATCHING THE NEWS EVERYDAY!

The market will not change over night. Do you need to hear about it 24 hours a day? What goes up must come down and vise versa. There is money to be made in this market!

Gulf of Mexico Red Grouper

Red Grouper

This Red Grouper was caught just outside Stump Pass in Englewood Florida. South West Florida provides some of the finest Grouper fishing in the world. The upcoming cold fronts will have the fish migrating closer to shore. One of my favorite to target.
