As promised here are a couple pictures taken during the Thanksgiving Holiday. These Red Grouper were caught outside of the Venice and Stump Pass inlets, just about in the middle of Manasota Key about 15 miles off shore. South West Florida fishing this year has been outstanding, be it from your boat or waterfront property. [...]

Tarpon fishing is in full steam at this very moment. I believe a lucky fisherman could hook a Tarpon standing on Venice Beach; that’s how many I could see flying over Venice Beach and Manasota Key. My friend bought a 1938 Piper Cub this week and was explaining how the plane would be ideal for [...]

Business in picking up and so are the King Fish around our local barrier islands and beaches. My favorite Florida barrier islands to fish are Casey Key, Manasota Key, Little Gasparilla Island, and Boca Grade. As I’ve stated in the past whether you reside or just visit this area sometimes, you must experiance the areas [...]

Finding calm warm days to fish this January 2009 with my best buds wasn’t easy but as these photos show our diligence paid off. Fishing inland in the bays and canal systems has been very good this year also with a wide variety of species. Just to mention a few (sea trout, pompano, sheephead, snook, [...]

This Red Grouper was caught just outside Stump Pass in Englewood Florida. South West Florida provides some of the finest Grouper fishing in the world. The upcoming cold fronts will have the fish migrating closer to shore. One of my favorite to target.

One of the best activities in South West Florida is the outstanding fishing. Any property located on salt water with access to the Gulf of Mexico provides fishing opportunities from the backyard and everywhere in between out to the Gulf. I’m posting a photo with this message from my last fishing adventure just outside Stump [...]

First I’ll start off with the fishing report. Warm water in the Gulf of Mexico 80+ degrees this time of year brings the sharks in making them an easy catch. The mackerel have been around the outlets in large numbers due to huge amounts of bait everywhere. King fish and Cobia have been easy to [...]

Finally some much needed rain has been falling in the Venice area for the past month. Making for a typical humid hot summer weather pattern. This summer pattern brings the much anticipated Tarpon (Silver King) to the area up and down the beaches. I have seen more tarpon than ever but have had very little [...]

The summer tarpon migration in well underway in Venice. Pass crabs are easy to catch on the outgoing tide. I’ve been fishing early in the morning or after work until dark with some success if the wind cooperates. During the work hours today I was busy showing 3bed 2bath 2 car garage homes in Venice [...]
